Rowing Regatta

UPDATE:
The 3am start concluded that we could not safely swim at that point. As a group we agreed to meet again at 9am to assess safety for a 10am start.

The Dover Rowing Regatta takes place on Saturday 8th June. The swim zone will be suspended for the duration of the rowing regatta. We need to be clear of the water before this.

To avoid this we will start our training session at 3am.

We will start in the dark and swim into daylight. Because we are starting in the dark:

  • We won’t be accepting any new swimmers on that day

  • You will be required to wear two electronic adventure lights (the ones you need for your big day)

  • You must attend the mandatory briefing on the day which will include additional information for this session

The size of the training zone will be reduced during the hours of darkness for safety. There will be lights around the zone that we create.

Towards the end of the session the support boats will be setting up the course for the regatta and you should ensure you swim in close to shore, which means a break from the usual anti-clockwise route around the harbour.

Later Event: 15 June
