The wind direction is South Westerly which rules out Hythe.  We will swim in Ramsgate is protected from wind from that direction, but despite that I suspect that given the wind strength that it will still be bouncy.

There is also a forecast of rain, please ensure you bring a waterproof bag or something to cover your bag if it is not waterproof. 

What we do have in our favour is the time of high water.  High water is before 7am and low water is 1pm.  The conditions should become better through the session.

Car Parking

There is car parking on Marine Esplanade in a Ringo fee-paying car park (by the coloured steps in the photo below), or you can park up on the cliff top for free.  If you park on the cliff top you come down the multicoloured steps to access the beach.

Where we'll meet

Base camp will be right in the middle of the swim zone that we'll use.  Please meet in front of the blue kiosk (the round building in the photo below).  We will stop before the harbour wall in one direction and we'll give you a reasonable distance in the other direction.

 Hazards

This is a normal public beach which has paddlers which will generally be at the end by the main kiosks.  Jet skiers have their own area away from the swim zone.

Safety briefing

We’ll do a specific venue safety briefing which you must attend.
